virtual field trips
ok so now that sarah and I have been working away at our virtual field trip to rainforest of the world I feel more confident in using the various tools out there. I have actually enjoyed making this field trip and at first was a little skeptical of the whole thing, but found myself getting into it. So I found a lot of neat information I didn;t really know about the rainforest. I am getting good at the whole putting a link to a site thing. I was frustrated with google maps because I didn't know what I was doing because I never messed with it before but once i got the hang of it it was much easier than I was trying to make it!! Isn't that how it always works, things are simple we just tend to make things more complicated then they need to be.

Funny! I feel the same way! I really am getting the hang of it and I think it is coming along. I thought I had the background thing but... well as you can see...nope! It has been great working with you on this and I will definitely use this in my classroom! Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteI sympathize with how you feel about Google maps a bit frustrating. But, as you also said you actually DID learn stuff you didn’t know about the rainforests and developed some computer skills along the way. I really want to set my 10th and 11th graders off on a project like this but unlike adults who can manage frustration, I fear the backlash I might get at the first glitch.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to read that you are enjoying the field trip. Google maps could go away and I wouldn't miss it... probably a mistake to require it... but hindsight is 20/20.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog thus far... I love the design and all the info on the sidebar.
